Many children can spend hours playing video games and not seem to get bored. If you have access to the internet, why not allow them to use some of that time learning while using the technology that seems to so easily engage them? There are so many great websites available that are free and educational. You will be shocked at how 'hooked' children get on learning, especially when they are challenging themselves to get faster at a task or beat their own score. Please be sure to keep any handouts with your child's login information as several of the sites will also be used at school and your child's progress can be recorded and acknowledged.
